Choosing a Printer Extruder Voron Documentation

voron design

You can find the BOM in the configurator located at the Voron Design website. Posting here about the printer you are designing, or have designed and released, is rude, at the very least. Doing such will potentially result in your posts being deleted. There are currently 5 printers in the Voron lineup. One is not necessarily better than the other, just different.

This community is part of what makes VORON such a special experience. It is officially supported, managed, and moderated by the same folks who provide support day in and day out in the Voron Discord. A forum allows people to have threads that are specifically about just their question. Instead of random pictures of their build in the chat history people can create a build log where someone can go back, look at every step along the way, and ask questions. There is even a section where self promotion is encouraged.

The Voron Trident is a traditional CoreXY design with a fixed gantry and the 3-point bed moves along the Z axis. It is simpler to build compared to V2 and can be built for between $1,000 - $1,300. It encloses naturally so ABS or other temperature sensitive filaments can be printed easily.

What was once a one-person operation has grown into a small tight-knit group of engineers united under a common design ethos. We’re dedicated to creating production-quality printers you can assemble in your kitchen. It’s this passion and dedication that drive us to push the boundaries just a little further.

We build space shuttles with gardening tools so anyone can have a space shuttle of their own. It was a work of love, but it also kind almost broke me. And just being able to look at their designs and figuring out what they did and use that as a stepping stone effectively.

Small Business Bazaar

There’s a lot of people running VORON tool heads on their third-party printers. We have a humongous mod community where people modify their printers with VORON parts or they create new parts for VORON printers. Some of their stuff ends up in the mainline releases.

VORON Design does not sell anything but releases all of their designs under the GPLv3 open source license. So currently i have a ebb42 on the toolhead and i want to use a beacon3d bed scanner, so the question arises how to hook everything up as best as possible. Unfortunately the beacon is only available in a usb configuration, so daisy chain to the canbus isn't possible. It also has to be beacon and not btt eddy or cartographer as beacon will have a nozzle touch based auto z offset feature in May. The official release of the Voron Zero 3D printer.

He believes that the Maker Movement has the potential to transform the educational experience of students and introduce them to the practice of innovation through play and tinkering. Will more or less force me to ditch the 3do canbus cable for a more diy solution due to space limitations in my cable chain. By far the cheapest solution as i already have such a diy can cable. If I don’t replace my Mini I’ll be looking to upgrade my MK3 to the MK4.

The Voron Forum has chosen to be supported by selected banner ads from our trusted vendors. We find it sneaky to rewrite links for profit, so we don't do it and don't allow others to either. That banner is the only advertisement that will ever appear. All of the information needed to go from zero to a working Voron printer can be found here.

All printers (except Legacy) are capable of being fully enclosed to print ABS but can just as easily print PLA, PETG, or even Nylon. All printers in the Voron lineup are designed to use a Raspberry Pi linked to one or more motor controller board(s) to manage all of the printer functions and interface controls. Talk to literally anybody at E3D and they will tell you all the nuances. I feel like we are at a critical point where we’re getting to a place where we have a design locked in that works. We’re trying not to do things like, oh, let’s release a new version, just because it’s a new year. And everybody was looking at their Ender 3 going, I wish that printed faster.

So, he open sourced his work and invited others to collaborate with him. That’s how Voron Design got started, an innovation community pushing the limits of what 3D printers can do. The Voron V2 is a modified CoreXY design with a static bed and a gantry that moves along the Z axis. It is a much more complex build because it includes things such as 4-point gantry tramming to align to the print surface, more stepper motors and other unique features. It is also designed to be fully enclosed so it prints ABS or similar filaments very well. Due to the linear rails the design is scalable in stock form from 250x250x220mm and 300x300x280mm all the way up to 350x350x330mm.

I wonder if I can do something about it, because I have a whole bunch of time in my hands right now. I wouldn’t know where to start about deciphering like Misumi part numbers for extrusions. Voron started as a page on Reddit and some Slack channels with raw files on GitHub. We moved to Discord and a little while later Voron exploded on popularity but little changed for how we supported the builders. Over last few years we would get periodic reports that for different reasons folks struggled with the rapid pace and intertwined conversations on Discord. We didn’t have a good option for them, until now.

The forum has been some time coming as we wanted to ensure that there was sufficient verified help to give everyone as good an experience as possible. Maks Zolin wanted to build a better, faster printer that was also quieter. He set out building the Voron printer in his garage but he ended up deciding that he didn’t want to run a 3D printer company.
